Welcome to CSHS Track & Field Home
The Colt Track program would like to congratulate junior Julia Frederick and senior Demornie Lodge for being named first team All-County by the Sun-Sentinal and Miami Herald. Julia was undefeated throughout the regular season and led the county honor roll with a personal best of 5'8" in the high jump. After repeating as BCAA, District, and Regional Champion, Julia closed out her season with a runner-up finish at the State Meet. Demornie also led the county honor roll in the long jump, finished as runner-up in the BCAA and Regional meets, along with winning the District title. He then closed out his high school career by capturing the State Championship with a school record leap of 24'1 3/4"
The 2011 season was another extremely successful one for the Colts Track and Field program. The girl's squad finished with a 14-1 regular season record, which included winning the CIty Championship for the tenth time in the last eleven season. Moving into the post season, the squad qualified 13 athletes for the BCAA Championships, finishing in the top ten in the team standings. The youthful squad then captured the distric championship, their eighth title in the last eleven years. Qualifying 14 athletes to the Regional meet, the girls finished in the top half of the field and sent high jumper Julia Frederick to the State Meet in Winter Park, where she earned a silver medal as State runner-up.
The boy's squad was just as successful, finishing with a 13-2 regular season record. They sent 11 athletes to the BCAA Championships and finished top ten in the team standings. The State Series opened with an outstanding district meet and the squad advanced 10 athletes to the Regional meet, where they also finished in the top ten. Two athletes qualified for the State Meet. Senior Dario Delices finished 12th in the triple jump, and senior Demornie Lodge captured the state title in the long jump.
The Colt track program will look to continue its great run during the 2012 season. The outstanding success of both squads this past year can be the springboard to one of the most successful seasons ever. We hope to have many new members next year and invite all at CSHS to try out for the 2012 squad.
